Used this to protect some hot spots I developed on my last hike. Worked great and kept them from turning into blisters. This is a permanent item in my hiking pack now.
Works great
My son has very sweaty feet on top of that he is a college soccer player who trains all summer in the humid sweaty heat of the south. He used to get some serious blisters like a half dollar piece of skin on the ball of his foot that exposed raw skin. It would take him out for weeks as his body had to grow new skin not to mention it was very painful for him. Enter this moleskin. He was playing in a tournament in July and started to get a blister. We ordered this. He cut a piece big enough to cover the balls of both feet. It stays put even through him playing several games, he says he can’t even feel it after a few minutes of putting it on and best of all NO MORE BLISTERS! It had been a life saver. He now uses it as a preventative when he feels like he will need it. It peels off without leaving residue, stays put and is thick enough to provide protection without being a distraction. Love it!
Saves my son's sweaty feet!
The worst thing about buying a new pair of soccer cleats is breaking them in. Even salespeople will tell you that part of the process of getting a new pair of cleats is dealing with the inevitable blisters until the shoe eventually becomes pliable and molded to the shape of your foot. You can’t avoid it, so just deal with it. I purchase a new pair every year, so every year I “deal with it.” No more!
This moleskin is amazing. What makes it different from other products is that you can stick it directly to your foot (in my case, the hind foot, where the top of the soccer shoe rubs against your lower Achilles tendon). It stays in place for hours and hours, and completely prevents the chafing that causes blisters. My practices are typically three hours in length, and despite lots of running, kicking, stretching, changes of direction, and, oh yes, sweating, this moleskin stays in place and completely protects my foot.
Where have you been all my life?
- I used this as mostly preventative tape whilst walking two Camino’s. It prevented rubbing and my feet survived the constant pounding day after day for over 500km whilst also carrying the weight of my backpack. I didn’t use it on my second to last day (I didn’t bring quite enough), and had blisters all over my feet - so this tape really was working! It’s expensive, but it can stay in place for days (remove it carefully, I almost ripped my skin taking it off too fast!!), so it is high quality, durable and performs brilliantly!
Amazing tape!
I was told about this stuff by a three times US Army Afghanistan Veteran (nope I'm not making that up). Apply to anywhere on your feet or where your gear rubs and/or the skin tends to form blisters (before it actually does), and the result is a godsend. I bought a new pair of hiking boots a few weeks back and committed the cardinal sin of going straight out and walking over 200 miles in them with only a couple of days rest. Yet by applying this stuff to known problem areas, I've not suffered a single sore spot or blister.
Important that you read the instructions for best results.
